East Dorset Neighbourhood Watch Week in June


National Neighbourhood Watch week runs from 15 to 23 June 2013 and East Dorset Neighbourhood and Home Watch schemes will be running a series of events around the district to keep residents informed of ways to keep their homes safe.

As well as the usual Neighbourhood and Home Watch schemes, East Dorset can also boast a number of other Watch schemes such as Farm Watch, Horse Watch, Business Watch, Shop and Pub Watch and Heath Watch. Each is designed to encourage community involvement reduce crime and to support those who have been the victims of crime.

Watch members work closely with their local police officers sharing information and are part of a much wider network of partnership work that involves the local authorities, housing associations and other public services.

Events during National Neighbourhood Watch week in East Dorset are:

Sat 15 & Sun 16 June, 10am – 2pm Moors Valley Country Park – cycle safety, property marking, securing your shed and riding safely
17 June, 10am – 1pm Launch Event at Haskins Garden Centre, Longham – visit Sheducation and see crime prevention displays in the restaurant’s Cedar Room
18 June, 10am – 1pm Sheducation trailer at Stewarts Garden Centre, Holt
19 June, 10am – 12 noon Sheducation trailer at the Barrington Centre,Ferndown
20 June, 7am – 9am Visit Travis Perkins on the Ferndown Industrial Estate, for information on keeping your tools safe
21 June, 11am – 3pm Crime Prevention Event Wimborne Square
23 June West Moors Fun Day, Fryers Field, West Moors – West Moors Home Watch will be manning the Sheducation trailer
