Dorset County Council Fostering Fortnight at Christchurch Library0
Fostering Fortnight is visiting Christchurch Library on Monday 20 May at 10:00-16:00.
From 13-26 May, Dorset County Council is supporting Fostering Fortnight, a national recruitment campaign, and is appealing for more people to consider looking after a child or young person in the county.
Fostering manager Kendra Bell said:
“We need to recruit at least 30 new foster carers per year to keep up with the increasing demand.
“We need people to look after children with a variety of needs, but are particularly looking for carers to foster young people aged 11 and over, either for a short period or through to adulthood.”

The council also needs carers to join the various schemes for children who have a disability, to either look after a child for a few hours or overnight, or to offer a longer-term placement.
During the fortnight, staff will be holding roadshows across Dorset for people to come and find out more about fostering.
