Christchurch Road improvements proposals extended0
The consultation period for the proposed improvements to Christchurch Road, Bournemouth has been extended until Monday 13 January 2014.
Residents and businesses are encouraged to take the opportunity to have their say on a number of measures to improve the area between Southbourne Road and Exton Road.
Three Towns Travel aims to make travelling between Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch easier, safer and more attractive. To be delivered as part of the Three Towns Travel programme, the proposed works on Christchurch Road will see improvements to cycling, walking and bus facilities, as well as enhancements to the look and feel of the area.
People are invited to have their say on a range of measures, including:
New segregated cycle lanes between Southbourne Road and Exton Road which will separate cyclists from vehicles
Raised crossing points for pedestrians across side roads
A new signal controlled crossing point at the junction of Exton Road
Upgraded street lighting
Enhanced bus stops
Removal of on street parking between Warnford Road and Exton Road
The proposals and questionnaire are available online at www.threetownstravel.co.uk and people have until Monday 13 January 2014 to have their say.
Works are anticipated to start in March 2014.
