Christchurch residents being asked for views on car parking

A consultation about council-managed car parks in the centres of Wimborne, Ferndown, Verwood and West Moors is currently being carried out as part of a district-wide parking study.

Project Centre Consultants have been appointed by East Dorset District Council to carry out the study to determine how well the current arrangements serve the local residents, businesses and visitors. The study will also look at changes that may be needed to satisfy future parking requirements over the next fifteen years.

In particular it will consider how well the existing car parks that the council manages in the four centres serve local residents, businesses and visitors at different times of the day and evening. In addition it will consider whether any changes should be made in respect of charges, permits, allocation of spaces for disabled motorists and short or long term parking. On-street parking in part of Wimborne is included in the study.

The questionnaire can be accessed and submitted online at:

Alternatively, paper copies can be obtained from the Engineering Section of East Dorset District Council by calling 01202 886201.

The questionnaire is open until 11 October 2013.
